PREDICTIONS: Premier League Edition

Barclays
My Liverpool bias aside, here our my year-end predictions to what has already been an exciting Premier League 2013-14 season. Enjoy!

1. MANCHESTER UNITED
RVP, Rooney & Welbeck gives Moyes all the necessary firepower to repeat as league champs.

2. MANCHESTER CITY
The Pellegrini adjustment period give The Red Devils just enough breathing room. Just enough.

3. CHELSEA
Uneven tactics and a lack of formalized attackers dooms The Blues to a 3rd place finish.

4. LIVERPOOL
From Mignolet to Coutinho to Sturridge, Rodger’s men use a bolstered core to return to glory.

5. TOTTENHAM
Bale or not, Soldado & Paulinho lead the Spurs to an automatic Europa League birth.

6. ARSENAL
Without a deadly finisher like RVP, Suarez or Higuain, The Gunners crash out of major tourneys.

7. SWANSEA
Michu, Bony & Routledge trio up to better The Jacks 9th 2012-13 finish. Laudrup’s men reign!

8. EVERTON
Passing is wonderful but like a typical Martinez squad a serious lack of scoring persists.

9. WEST HAM
Mini Liverpool successfully recreate the Carroll/Downing pairing to improve on last year.

10. SOUTHAMPTON
Led by the goal-scoring Lambert and a revamped defense, The Saints march to a top 10 finish.

11. WEST BROM
Anelka is no Lukaku but he’ll do a good enough job replacing him as The Baggies slip back a bit.

12. ASTON VILLA
Keeping Benteke keeps The Villans dangerous up top but does Lambert have enough else?

13. NEWCASTLE
A club that could as easily be top 10 or bottom 3 is hard to predict. Solidly middle is most likely.

14. NORWICH
A boatload of transfers, including Wolfswinkel, is nice. How they gel is yet to be seen.

15. CARDIFF CITY
The best of the newly promoted made enough good signings (Caulkner/Medel) to surprise.

16. FULHAM
Even with Parker, The Cottagers need more defense to go with Berbatov and Taarabt‘s offense.

17. SUNDERLAND
The Di Canio experiment will have lows yes but enough highs to avoid relegation. Barely.

18. STOKE CITY
Even with Shawcross and Walters, the loss of Pulis proves to be too much.

19. CRYSTAL PALACE
The talent drain, losing Zaha, and lack of talent import, Bent, forecasts relegation.

20. HULL CITY
Bruce did well to get his club promoted but they just don’t have the talent to stay up.
